29/06/08 Have you ever had a sensation living in a fairy tale? MIRAMARE castle seems like a castle from a fairy tale. This eclectic edifice was built between 1856 and 1860 according to the wishes of Archduke Maximilian of Habsburg. It is surrounded by the extensive park (22 hectares) that is located on the seashore and was designed by the Archduke. The cliff it was built on at that time did not have any vegetation and because of that it was cultivated with numerous tropical species of trees and plants. If you want to relax, there is a nice port and beach of Grignano not far from the castle where you can bathe in the sea enjoying an amazing scenery! What can I say more...simply spectacular views that I already got used to:-) !
