FINAL PART OF THE EVENT "YOUR FIRST JOB ABROAD" IN PARIS

03/10/08 Bonjour, Paris! Today I am in Paris with my employer and Eures adviser. We have come to Paris to celebrate the final part of the initiative YOUR FIRST JOB ABROAD that takes place at Citè Universitaire Internationale. The first celebration of YOUR FIRST JOB ABROAD took place on 18th of April in Brussels (you can find photos of the event in Brussels clicking on the link www.cristuliukas.blogspot.com on your right).
Mrs. Wallis Goelen, the head of Unit "Employment services, Mobility" opened the ceremony and the event started. After some reports Mr. Jèrome Vignon opened the next part of the event YOUR FIRST JOB ABROAD. The video of EURES was shown giving useful information about the mobility of young people and the opportunities to get a job in a foreign country, then the best piece followed: the video KRISTINA'S FIRST JOB IN EUROPE. Well done! I hope you can see this video soon and draw your own conclusions! After the video we had other participants who told their success stories. Well ...what can I say... very smart and motivated persons who deserved to be the winners. Regarding this initiative I just can add that I had a wonderful experience that was really worth trying!!!The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams! Au revoir!
P.S.

CIVIDALE

27/09/08 Cividale del Friuli is a town in Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Northern Italy, not far from Udine. The town is in the foothills of the eastern Alps. It is situated on the river Natisone, which forms a picturesque ravine here. Formerly an important regional power, it is today a quiet, small town that attracts tourists thanks to its medieval center which is really amazing. The town is split in two by the Natisone River, which is spanned by the impressive Devil's Bridge (15th century, rebuilt in 1918). Very cosy and warm town!!!

EUROPEAN JOB DAYS 2008

23/09/08 Today I took part in the event EUROPEAN JOB DAYS 2008. As it is international day events range from job fairs to seminars and information sessions all over Europe and the whole Italy. I was invited to this manifestation to tell my experience. The event took place in the Aula Magna of the Art Institute in Gorizia. It was nice to meet new people and see curious faces of youngsters. My Eures adviser Ilaria Sicilia made a presentation about EURES and the possibilities to work and live abroad. To sum up, I can say that nowadays there are so many projects and initiatives to improve the mobility of young people in Europe. With the help of EURES you can fulfil your dream and discover new things!Besides, EURES has a human network of more than 700 EURES advisers that are in daily contact with jobseekers and employers across Europe. If you speak a couple of foreign languages, have an open chararacter and wish to expand your horizons, EURES is the first alternative!

COUNTRYSIDE OF TUSCANY

30/08/08 Here I am again in Tuscany. I have seen beautiful landscapes but there, everything is in perfect proportion. The sun is bright but not too bright, the sky is perfect blue, the hills are not steep and there is always a castle, a church or a villa on top, the cypress trees look like guards, protecting you in the dark, endless sunflower fields, fragrant olive groves, lavender everywhere, harvest fields filled with hayrolls, the grass smelling so fresh, vineyards everywhere, everything tells you this is the land of true natural resources...Let's enjoy!

VENICE THAT TAKES YOUR BREATH AWAY

15/08/08 Today is a great religious festival -the Assumption of the Virgin Mary. This day the Italians go away and small cities become deserted. Today my destination is Venice! I was in Venice 8 years ago, the sun was shining but it was winter. It was very beautiful but what I saw that day...I have no words. I couldn't believe my eyes. The beauty of Venice enchanted me...it is incredible and magical city. In summer it is especially spectacular. You have to visit it at least once in your life!!!If suddenly you felt the desire to come to Venice, come to me and ...we will take a direct train from Gorizia to Venezia Santa Lucia train station which is on the island!!!:-)

PORDENONE

26/07/08 Pordenone was founded in the High Middle Ages as a river port on the Noncello, with the name Portus Naonis. To be precise, the name comes from the Latin "Portus Naonis" meaning the port on the river Noncello (Latin Naon).
It is a cosy nice town with a nice historical centre, narrow little streets and very lively. It is an early morning but the coffee shops and bars are full of people. It goes without saying that I and my friends have to take a break and pamper ourselves with a cup of coffee and chocolate dessert which is the speciality of Pordenone:-)The dessert is even more tasty because I am in a very good company! After this we have to go on sightseeing...
To sum up, the sightseeing and shopping was great but the lunch was superb:-)Finally, I want to thank Stefania and her family for a warm and hospitable welcome in her town and a meaningful time spent there!

SISTIANA AND GRADO

19/07/08 Saturday. A beautiful sunny morning (nothing new to your ears, I guess:-)Today, instead of going to Sistiana, I decided to go to Grado. Grado is situated in the region of Friuli Venezia Giulia between Trieste and Venice, both easily reachable as other interesting cultural itineraries.
Grado stretches out the southern part of Gorizia Province, on an island between Grado Lagoon and the Adriatic Sea. In fact, there the Adriatic Sea floor is particularly flat and sandy. Grado is also called "the Island of the Sun". The main beach of Grado is considered one of the best-equipped in the region of Friuli Venezia Giulia, winning awards year after year. It offers a wide choice of sports, games, organized tournaments and entertainment, including water-skiing, wind-surfing, beach-volleyball, and beach-soccer.
The historic centre of Grado is very cosy with its restaurants, bars, taverns and green decorative plants. A nice island ...but I prefer the sea and the beach in Sistiana. The bay of Sistiana, to my mind, is more beautiful, the water is transparent and the landscape is really spectacular. Diving in the sea you can see sea horses and oher sea creatures. If you rent a rubber dinghy or a canoe you can sail along a rocky coastline and enjoy impressive views. The coastline is definitely worth seeing.
It depends on your taste! I have to admit that people living in Gorizia are lucky ones, because they can choose both holiday places due to favorable geographical position. One weekend in Grado, another one in Sistiana...
