VERONA
09/11/08 Well, despite it is Novembere (the month that I don't like at all) in Verona it seems like spring: warm, sunny and colourful. Verona is one the greatest cities in Italy, very important both historically and culturally. Usually Verona is known as the town of lovers from the Shakespeare's play and the balcony of Romeo and Juliet is always a major tourist attraction. The short passageway leading to the balcony is covered with slips of paper carrying their graffiti, and a bronze statue of Juliet stands under the balcony, one breast polished by those touching it for luck. The Lion of St.Marks can be seen throughout the city, attesting to the city's past as part of the Republic of Venice. There are many churches, monuments, and fortresses from various epochs, especially the Late Middle Ages, when the Scaliger family ruled Verona, but the greatest sight of them all is the ARENA, where nowadays operas are performed.

FINAL PART OF THE EVENT "YOUR FIRST JOB ABROAD" IN PARIS
03/10/08 Bonjour, Paris! Today I am in Paris with my employer and Eures adviser. We have come to Paris to celebrate the final part of the initiative YOUR FIRST JOB ABROAD that takes place at Citè Universitaire Internationale. The first celebration of YOUR FIRST JOB ABROAD took place on 18th of April in Brussels (you can find photos of the event in Brussels clicking on the link www.cristuliukas.blogspot.com on your right).
Mrs. Wallis Goelen, the head of Unit "Employment services, Mobility" opened the ceremony and the event started. After some reports Mr. Jèrome Vignon opened the next part of the event YOUR FIRST JOB ABROAD. The video of EURES was shown giving useful information about the mobility of young people and the opportunities to get a job in a foreign country, then the best piece followed: the video KRISTINA'S FIRST JOB IN EUROPE. Well done! I hope you can see this video soon and draw your own conclusions! After the video we had other participants who told their success stories. Well ...what can I say... very smart and motivated persons who deserved to be the winners. Regarding this initiative I just can add that I had a wonderful experience that was really worth trying!!!The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams! Au revoir!
P.S. You can find more photos of the event clicking on the link www.cristuliukas.blogspot.com

CIVIDALE
27/09/08 Cividale del Friuli is a town in Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Northern Italy, not far from Udine. The town is in the foothills of the eastern Alps. It is situated on the river Natisone, which forms a picturesque ravine here. Formerly an important regional power, it is today a quiet, small town that attracts tourists thanks to its medieval center which is really amazing. The town is split in two by the Natisone River, which is spanned by the impressive Devil's Bridge (15th century, rebuilt in 1918). Very cosy and warm town!!!

EUROPEAN JOB DAYS 2008
23/09/08 Today I took part in the event EUROPEAN JOB DAYS 2008. As it is international day events range from job fairs to seminars and information sessions all over Europe and the whole Italy. I was invited to this manifestation to tell my experience. The event took place in the Aula Magna of the Art Institute in Gorizia. It was nice to meet new people and see curious faces of youngsters. My Eures adviser Ilaria Sicilia made a presentation about EURES and the possibilities to work and live abroad. To sum up, I can say that nowadays there are so many projects and initiatives to improve the mobility of young people in Europe. With the help of EURES you can fulfil your dream and discover new things!Besides, EURES has a human network of more than 700 EURES advisers that are in daily contact with jobseekers and employers across Europe. If you speak a couple of foreign languages, have an open chararacter and wish to expand your horizons, EURES is the first alternative!

COUNTRYSIDE OF TUSCANY
30/08/08 Here I am again in Tuscany. I have seen beautiful landscapes but there, everything is in perfect proportion. The sun is bright but not too bright, the sky is perfect blue, the hills are not steep and there is always a castle, a church or a villa on top, the cypress trees look like guards, protecting you in the dark, endless sunflower fields, fragrant olive groves, lavender everywhere, harvest fields filled with hayrolls, the grass smelling so fresh, vineyards everywhere, everything tells you this is the land of true natural resources...Let's enjoy!

VENICE THAT TAKES YOUR BREATH AWAY
15/08/08 Today is a great religious festival -the Assumption of the Virgin Mary. This day the Italians go away and small cities become deserted. Today my destination is Venice! I was in Venice 8 years ago, the sun was shining but it was winter. It was very beautiful but what I saw that day...I have no words. I couldn't believe my eyes. The beauty of Venice enchanted me...it is incredible and magical city. In summer it is especially spectacular. You have to visit it at least once in your life!!!If suddenly you felt the desire to come to Venice, come to me and ...we will take a direct train from Gorizia to Venezia Santa Lucia train station which is on the island!!!:-)
